TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners in men’s and women’s indoor track & field and four Rensselaer student-athletes have been recognized. Kyle Barden and Justin Metzger were named the men’s Track and Field Performers of the Week, respectively, while Marie Ferro and Connor Ahlborn garnered the same honors on the women’s side.

TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer men’s hockey team is listed 18th in the nation, according to the latest Inside College Hockey.com Power Rankings. The website lists 20 teams on a weekly basis. This is the first time this season that RPI has been recognized.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

The Engineers went 1-1-0 last week, beating third-ranked Clarkson (3-1) on Friday night, before falling at St. Lawrence (3-1) on Saturday afternoon. Senior Allysen Weidner had a goal and an assist in the two games. RPI (12-11-6; 9-5-4 ECACH) returns home this weekend, when it hosts sixth-ranked Harvard and Dartmouth on Friday (7pm) and Saturday (4pm), respectively.

St. Lawrence freshmen Michelle Ng and Kelly Sabatine combined for five points on Saturday afternoon, leading the Saints' women's hockey team to a key 3-1 victory over Rensselaer at Appleton Arena. The victory moves the Scarlet and Brown into sole possession of fourth place in the ECAC Hockey standings with four games remaining in the regular season.

HANOVER, N.H. – The Rensselaer men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams saw a number of student-athletes post solid results at the non-scoring, multi-divisional Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday. Leading the way for RPI was senior Justin Metzger, who won the pole vault and narrowly missed his own school record mark in the event.

CLINTON, N.Y. – Despite a number of solid performances at this afternoon’s meet, the Rensselaer men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams were unable to overcome a number of dominant performances by the Hamilton squads. The Continentals’ men claimed a 130-102 victory, while the Hamilton women were victorious, 127-112.

TROY, N.Y. – Sophomore Casey Capello recorded a game-high 24 points, providing the difference, as the St. Lawrence University women’s basketball team defeated Rensselaer, 62-38, this afternoon at East Campus Arena. With the win the Saints improve to 14-6 overall (6-4 Liberty League), while the Engineers fall to 12-8 (7-2 Liberty League).
