TROY, N.Y. - Members of the Rensselaer athletic department and their families, as well as President Jackson and members of the Cabinet and their families, enjoyed a night at the Tri-City ValleyCats baseball game at Joe Bruno Stadium recently. In addition to enjoying a picnic and camaraderie, there was the excitement of seeing Dr. Jackson throw out the ceremonial first pitch. (She reached the catcher with no problem!)

TROY, N.Y. – Rensselaer Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton has announced the hiring of Amber Maisonet as interim head softball coach. An assistant coach for the Engineers the past two years, Maisonet replaces Erika Lewis, who resigned. A national search to fill the position permanently is underway. “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to lead the softball program at RPI,” said Maisonet.

TROY, N.Y. - Numerous Rensselaer student-athletes recently participated in National Hockey League prospect camps and the Engineers stood out. Mike Bergin (Dallas Stars), Jerry D'Amigo (Toronto Maple Leafs), Jeff Foss (Nashville Predators), Brandon Pirri (Chicago Black Hawks) and Allen York (Columbus Blue Jackets) each spent time with - and impressed - the teams that drafted them.
