TROY, N.Y. – Rensselaer Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton has announced the hiring of Amber Maisonet as interim head softball coach. An assistant coach for the Engineers the past two years, Maisonet replaces Erika Lewis, who resigned. A national search to fill the position permanently is underway. “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to lead the softball program at RPI,” said Maisonet.

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Athletics Department has numerous methods for fans to follow the Engineers, including score updates through text messages, the reception of stories via RSS feeds, using Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and a mobile version of the athletic department’s site. There are also live statistics, live video and radio broadcasts for many of RPI's athletic contests available on the Internet.

TROY, N.Y. – Several Rensselaer student-athletes finished among the national leaders in a number of statistical categories this spring, including Mike Cieszko (Earned Run Average) and Patrick Reardon (Walks) from baseball, James Manchester (Goals Against Average) from men’s lacrosse and Jen Bach (Home Runs Per Game) from softball. Those teams also ranked among the nation’s best statistically.
