WOMEN'S HOCKEY

RPI was idle last week, but returns to action this weekend with a pair of road ECAC Hockey contests. The Engineers (8-5-2; 4-1-1 ECAC Hockey) close out the 2008 portion of their schedule at Quinnipiac (3pm) and Princeton (4pm) on Friday and Saturday, respectively. A live video stream for Friday's game will available here and live stats for Saturday's contest will be available here.  

MEN'S HOCKEY

RPI went 0-2 last week, falling to Mercyhurst (4-1) and #4 Northeastern (5-1) in the 58th Annual Rensselaer Holiday Tournament. Senior captain Matt Angers-Goulet (St. Augustin, PQ) recorded a shorthanded goal against the Huskies. The Engineers (2-10-1; 1-4-0 ECAC Hockey) return to league play with games at Yale and Brown on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both contests begin at 7pm and will be broadcast live on WRPI, 91.5 FM, and www.wrpi.org.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Rensselaer was idle last week, but is back in action this weekend, when it hosts the Liberty League Championships at Robison Pool. Competition begins on Friday (4pm) and continues through Saturday (9am/4pm).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Red Hawks went 1-0 last week, beating Wheaton College 77-58 on Tuesday. Freshman guard Sarah Wetmore (Sudbury, MA) scored 16 points on 7-10 shooting, with six rebounds, three assists and three steals. The Red Hawks (5-1) are back on the court on Tuesday night, when they visit Williams College (7:30pm). They return home on Thursday for a match-up with Mount Holyoke College (8pm), with live stats available at http://www.sidearmstats.com/rpi/wbball/.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Rensselaer went 1-0 last week, topping Paul Smith's College 83-66 on Sunday. Senior forward Sam Simmons (Newburgh, NY) scored 24 points on 10-12 shooting, with four rebounds in the win. RPI (2-2) returns to action Tuesday when it visit the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) 8pm. The Red Hawks then host Southern Vermont on Thursday (6pm) and close out the week on Saturday against Wentworth (3pm). Both games will be held at Robison Gym and will feature live stats available at http://www.sidearmstats.com/rpi/mbball.

2009 Calendars containing over 200 full color action shots of all 23 varsity teams, with the full athletic schedule for the spring semester are now available. A $10 donation is asked for to support Women's Lacrosse. Contact donovs@rpi.edu or khachl@rpi.edu for more information.

**As is the case with 21 of Rensselaer's the 23 intercollegiate programs (exceptions are football and men's hockey), there is no admission charged for home games.
