Swimming & Diving Splits with Hartwick

TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) swimming & diving teams split a dual meet with Hartwick with RPI’s men winning, 124.50-116.50, while Hartwick’s women posted a 137-106 victory.
Among today’s highlights was Rensselaer’s Daniel Brocki (West Hampton, NY/Westhampton Beach who won the 50-yard freestyle (22.25), the 100-freestyle (49.32), and helped the 400 medley relay team to victory (2:44.04). Junior Kevin Sheridan (Lexington, MA/Lexington) posted individual victories in the 500-freestyle (5:00.24) and the 200-freestyle (1:49.12) while senior Greg Derevianko (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) won off both the 1-meter (262.50 points) and 3-meter (240.83) boards.
Freshman Erin Gray (Gardner, MA) paced the Hartwick women with two individual wins in the 500-free (5:25.98) and 1000-free (11:00.91) while senior Karel Schnebele (Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) also posted two wins in the 200-free (2:01.91) and 100-free (56.00).
Rensselaer is back in the pool next Sunday when it travels to Vassar for a 1pm meet in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Hartwick returns to the pool on Saturday for a home-meet against LeMoyne (1pm).
