TROY, N.Y. – For the second straight year, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team will have five home games from the Houston Field House produced and broadcast live on Time Warner Cable. The first broadcast is this Saturday, October 18, when the Engineers host Bentley College on Homecoming Weekend at 7pm.
Games will appear live on Time Warner Cable's local sports channel, Time Warner Sports, Channel 3 in most areas. Replay times will be scheduled for each game and all games will be archived on Time Warner Sports On Demand (Channel 1003), accessible to all Time Warner Cable Digital Cable customers.
The five-game schedule is:
• Saturday, October 18: Rensselaer vs. Bentley
• Saturday, November 15: Rensselaer vs. Quinnipiac
• Saturday, January 17: Rensselaer vs. Cornell
• Saturday, February 14: Rensselaer vs. Yale
• Friday, February 27: Rensselaer vs. Clarkson
All five games begin at 7pm and each of the last four are ECAC Hockey contests. RPI's game against Yale is the 58th Annual Bank of America Big Red Freakout! while the game versus Clarkson is scheduled to be carried live nationally on SNY (SportsNet New York).
The games will be available to over 400,000 Time Warner Cable customers in and around New York's Capital Region and Western Massachusetts, with potential statewide carriage of some games in other Time Warner areas across the state.
Former New Jersey Devils and Albany River Rats play-by-play announcer, John Hennessey, returns for his second season as the play-by-play voice while Craig Darby, a Colonie, N.Y., native who had a prolonged professional career, including 196 games in the National Hockey League, will provide analysis.
