TROY, N.Y. - More than 170 football coaches visited Rensselaer's East Campus Athletic Village on January 18 for the purpose of improving themselves in their craft. Among the day-long activities were 20 college and high school coaches conducting training sessions for coaches from Sections 2, 9 and 7. Topics from offense, defense, special teams, practice organization, tackling and strength and conditioning were covered. There was also a keynote speaker from former Syracuse football star Dan Conley, who is currently the linebackers coach for the Orange.
Rensselaer's football staff were among those who served as clinicians, while also handling all organization and logistics. All of the proceeds from the clinic went to the Capital District National Football Foundation, which promotes scholar-athletes and Section 2 football.
