WOMEN'S HOCKEY
The Engineers went 2-1-0 last week, taking the best-of-three ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series at Quinnipiac. RPI fell in game one (2-1) in double-overtime on Friday, before winning games two (1-0) and three (2-1) in five overtimes on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Senior Laura Gersten (Queensbury, NY) scored the game-winner on Sunday in what was the second longest game in college hockey history.
Rensselaer (16-14-6) will play in the ECAC Hockey Semifinals for the second straight season, when it visits ninth-ranked Cornell on Friday night (7pm). The winner of that contest playing the winner of the Clarkson/Harvard match on Sunday (4pm). MEN'S HOCKEY
Rensselaer went 0-1-1 last week, falling at Colgate (3-2) on Friday, before tying ninth-ranked Cornell (1-1) on Saturday. Senior Paul Kerins (Weston, ON) recorded a goal and an assist against the Raiders. RPI (17-15-4; 10-9-3 ECAC Hockey) has earned a first round home series in the ECAC Hockey Tournament and will host Brown this weekend in a best-of-three clash at the Houston Field House. Game times are set for 7pm on Friday and Saturday nights, with game 3 (if necessary) slated for Sunday, also at 7pm.

SWIMMING & DIVING
The Engineers men finished fifth out 16 teams at the 2010 UNYSCSA Championships over the weekend, compiling 846 points. Pacing RPI in the final session was freshman Ben LeRose (Williamsburg, VA) who concluded his first State Meet by finishing fourth in the 200-butterfly. He posted a time of 1:57.55 in the event.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Engineers (15-9) were idle last week, but return to action on Saturday, when they take part in the ECAC Upstate Tournament, hosted by SUNY-Brockport. Rensselaer will face Ithaca in the opening round of the four-team tournament on Saturday (TBD), with the championship game set for Sunday (TBD).
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Rensselaer went 2-0 last week, winning the 2010 Liberty League Tournament Championship, with victories over St. Lawrence (67-55) and Skidmore (70-67) on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Graduate student #Whitney Coleman# (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) broke both the single-season and career scoring records with her 16-point performance against the Thoroughbreds. The Engineers, who are 17-10 overall, earned an automatic bid in the 2010 NCAA Tournament and await their draw, which will be announced on Monday afternoon.
TRACK & FIELD
Both teams took part in the 2010 NYSCTC Indoor Championships, which came to a close on Saturday and after 21 events scored, Engineers' men's track & field team were named this year's champions. They posted 159 points to win the meet, finishing ten points ahead of Liberty League-rival St. Lawrence. On the women's side, RPI was third of nine teams, also placing first among conference institutions. The men were paced to victory by several first-place finishes, including senior captain #Mike Zampi# (Walpole, MA) who won the 1000-run in a time of 2:33.81.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
The Engineers opened their spring 2010 season on Saturday, falling to Skidmore (9-0) in Saratoga Springs. Junior #Jessica Sitzer# (Rockaway, NJ) turned a strong performance at 3rd singles, before losing the match 6-1, 7-6 (9-7). Rensselaer is back on the courts on March 20, when it visits St. Lawrence (1pm).
MEN'S LACROSSE
The Engineers kick-off their 2010 season on Wednesday, when they host Mount Saint Mary College (4pm) in a non-conference game. RPI then hosts RIT on Saturday (1pm). Rensselaer, which is led by 14th-year head coach Jim Townsend, will be playing its first ever contests at East Campus Stadium. WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Rensselaer, which led by eighth-year head coach Leslie DeLano, opens its 2010 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, when it travels to Western New England College (4pm).
**As is the case with 21 of Rensselaer's 23 intercollegiate programs (exceptions are football and men's hockey), there is no admission charged for home games.
