TROY, N.Y. – The NCAA has released the names of the 17 student-athletes selected to compete for the women’s East Squad at the 2010 Frozen Four Skills Challenge and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women’s hockey player Allison Wright was chosen as one of nine alternates.

A senior left winger and captain out of Oakville, Ont., Wright played in all 37 games this season, leading the Engineers in scoring points (27) and assists (15). She was also second in goals (12), recording three on the power play, one shorthanded and three game-winning tallies. Wright also led the team in ECAC Hockey scoring, tallying eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 22 games.

Wright, a former standout with the Oakville Ice, played in all 142 games of her career at Rensselaer to become the program’s all-time leader in games played. She tallied 34 goals and 45 assists for 79 points during that time and ranks 14th among the all-time scoring leaders.

During her career, Wright helped the Engineers to three appearances in the ECAC Hockey Playoffs, including back-to-back trips to the conference semifinals. A three-time selection to the ECACH Weekly Honor Roll, she was also a multiple Dean’s List honoree and conference All-Academic squad selection.

The Frozen Four Skills Challenge will be held April 9 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and will highlight the "Friday Night at the Frozen Four". The night will also include the presentation of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, the Hockey Humanitarian Award and the announcement of the American Hockey Coaches Association All-American teams.

The Engineers went 16-15-6 in 2009-10, including an 11-7-4 mark in ECAC Hockey play. RPI, the fifth-seed in the conference playoffs, defeated Quinnipiac in a best-of-three quarterfinals series before falling in the semifinals to eventual ECAC Hockey Champion, Cornell.
