TROY, N.Y. - Rensselaer men's hockey players
Allen York (Wetaskiwin, AB / Camrose Kodiaks), a goaltender, and
Chase Polacek (Edina, MN / Academy of Holy Angels), a forward, have been nominated for the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award. The two student-athletes have played pivotal roles in helping the Engineers to a top 10 ranking in the national polls, to date.
Awarded annually to college hockey's top player, the Hobey Baker's highly popular fan-voting phase opened on January 13. Fans can vote online from this year's outstanding group of college hockey players through the Hobey Baker website:
www.hobeybaker.com.
The first phase of fan balloting runs through March 6. Phase two of fan balloting begins on March 18 from the list of Top Ten Hobey Baker finalists. The fans' vote accounts for a full 1 percent of the total ballot in each phase in selecting this year's award recipient.
Users can vote for their favorite Hobey Baker candidate once every 24 hours. Fans may vote as many times as they would like.
