TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners in men's and women's lacrosse and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes Brian Larkin and Jen Greenwood have been recognized for their efforts last week. Larkin was selected as the men's Offensive Performer of the Week, while Greenwood was tabbed with the same honor on the women's side.

A junior midfielder from Florham Park, N.J., Larkin was a key factor in #8 RPI's 2-0 week, going 29 of 38 (76.3)% on the face-off with a team-best 23 ground balls. He also scored a man-up goal and recorded an assist. In a 10-2 win over Vassar, Larkin was a perfect 14 of 14 on the face-off with 12 ground balls. He then scored and assisted in a 14-7 win over Montclair State, going 15 of 24 on the draw and scooping up 11 ground balls.

This is the first weekly honor for Larkin, who leads the Liberty League in ground balls with 67 (9.57 per game average). Ranking 11th in the nation in ground ball pickups; he has also helped the Engineers average a conference-best 40.29 ground balls per game.

A former standout at Seton Hall Prep, Larkin has scored two goals and assisting on another, while causing six turnovers this season. He has been outstanding in the face-off circle through seven contests, going 83 of 124 on the draw for a .669 winning percentage and ranks in the top 30 among Division III face-off specialists.

Greenwood, a senior midfielder from Newtown, Conn., garnered her first weekly honor after tallying three goals, including a free-position and the game-winner, in RPI's only game last week – a 13-10 win at SUNY Potsdam. She also added three assists on five shots (all on goal) with ground ball, a draw control and a caused turnover.

The Newtown High School graduate is currently fourth on the team in scoring with six goals and three assists for nine points. She has taken 10 shots, all of which have gone on goal, while adding three ground balls, seven draw controls and two caused turnovers in seven games.

The #8 men's lacrosse team (6-1)  is back in action on Wednesday as it travels to Saratoga Springs for a game against #19 Skidmore (4pm). The Engineers then host Hamilton on Saturday at East Campus Stadium (1pm). The women's lacrosse team (4-1) travels to Williamstown, Mass., on Monday for a 5pm tilt before opening its Liberty League schedule at home against Skidmore and Union on Friday (4pm) and Saturday (2pm), respectively.
