Jeff Foss Signs with Milwaukee Admirals

Defenseman to play in American Hockey League

Jeff Foss
TROY, N.Y. – Former Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jeff Foss has signed a professional contract with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL). A defenseman, Foss played five games for the Admirals after finishing his collegiate career in March.

Foss, a draft pick of the Nashville Predators, the National Hockey League (NHL) parent team of the Admirals, played every game over his four years in Troy, setting the school record, along with classmate Chase Polacek, with 154 career contests.

Foss, who hails from Moorhead, Minn., concluded his career with eight goals and 30 assists for 38 points. He had a career-high 14 points on three goals and 11 assists this year, in which he helped the Engineers to 20 wins and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1995.

Foss was an assistant captain who typically played against the opposing team's best forwards.  He was selected as the team's Best Defensive Player at the Engineers' year-end banquet.

Following his freshman season, in his final season, in which he had four points (1 goal, 3 assists), he was selected by the Predators in the sixth round, 166th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.  He had 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) as a sophomore and nine points (2 goals, 7 assists) as a junior.
