Student Season Ticket Form
TROY, N.Y. – The annual Hockey Line culminated this week when Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey season tickets went on sale to the students. The longstanding tradition featured several new ideas and promotions, including a parade led by the student-athletes with the RPI Pep Band, which helped lead to a significant increase in the number of tickets sold.
Following the tradition of students camping out in front of the Student Union for the opportunity to be among the first to purchase their men's hockey season tickets – a practice that began in the early 1970s – each group in line was provided a numbered hockey puck. They then packed up their belongings, which included tents, chairs and sleeping bags, and joined in the mile-long parade to the Houston Field House, the home arena of the Engineers.
Upon arrival to the Field House, the students were able to select their seats and purchase their season tickets while also enjoying the chance to skate with the men's and women's players, participate in video game competitions, and enjoy free pizza and ice cream that was served by the players. The result was an increase of 57 season tickets sold, to 430 on that first evening.
Rensselaer men's hockey student season tickets remain on sale at the Houston Field House box office. More information is available by calling (518) 276-6262 or visiting
