POTSDAM, N.Y. – Junior Jamie Lee Rattray scored two goals and had an assist to lead the fifth-ranked Clarkson University women's hockey team to a, 5-2, series-clinching victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), this afternoon at Cheel Arena. With the win, the Golden Knights improve to 28-8-0 and advance the ECAC Hockey Semifinals, while the Engineers conclude their season with a 10-22-4 record.

Rattray (Kanata, ON/Ottawa Senators) broke open a 1-0 game midway through the second period, when she picked up a loose puck just inside the RPI zone and skated in a breakaway. She tucked the puck through the legs of Engineers' sophomore goaltender Kelly O'Brien (Sussex, WI/Madison Capitals) for an unassisted tally at 11:53.

Less than three minutes later, Rattray slapped one home from the right circle to make it 3-0. Picking up the rebound of her own shot, she drove a low shot along the ice and just inside the right post for her second of the game.

Rensselaer freshman Lauren Wash (Belle Mead, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) brought the visitors to within, 3-1, at 10:43 of the third period, when she carried the puck off the boards and fired a shot into the top right corner of the net. The tally, which was her seventh of the season, was assisted by sophomore Mariana Walsh (Walpole, MA/Phillips Andover).

The Golden Knights answered at 13:50 of the stanza, on a rebound goal by freshman Olivia Howe (Moose Jaw, SA/Notre Dame Hounds). Grabbing the puck in the middle of the slot, she wristed it inside the left pipe for her sixth of the season. Sophomore Christine Lambert (Thetford Mines, PQ/Ontario Hockey Academy) and freshman Renata Fast (Burlington, ON/Burlington Jr. Barracudas) earned the assists.

An empty-net marker from junior Vanessa Gagnon (St. Constant, PQ/Dawson Blues) at 17:36 of the third made it 5-1. Rattray earned the lone helper on Gagnon's ninth of the year.

RPI senior captain Katie Daniels (Rockton, IL/Chicago Mission) capped the scoring with a shot from the top of the right circle and whistled into the top right corner of the net. Junior Jordan Smelker (Anchorage, AK/Team Alaska 19U) and senior captain Taylor Horton (St. Thomas, ON/Bluewater Hawks) picked up the assists on Daniels' second of the season and fourth of her career.

Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PE/Warner Warriors) got the scoring started at 19:26 of the first period. Corralling the puck behind the net, she stuck it just inside the post before O'Brien could get there for her eighth on the season.

Clarkson junior netminder Erica Howe (Ottawa, ON/Ottawa Senators) stopped 17 shots to earn the win, while O'Brien made 29 saves for the Engineers.
