TROY, N.Y. - The Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region presented Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) head men's hockey coach
Seth Appert with an award honoring his advocacy and sponsorship of an Autism Awareness game. Additionally, Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino and City of Troy Deputy Mayor Peter Ryan presented Appert with proclamations honoring his autism advocacy.
The Autism Awareness game, which took place on January 18, 2013, was a groundbreaking event that featured accommodations for the autism community in attendance by limiting noise and visual stimuli which can adversely affect them. Funds were also raised and donated to The Autism Society.
