PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Aubree Moore stopped all 51 shots she faced as the Brown University women's hockey team defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), 3-0, in an ECAC Hockey contest. Kelly O'Brien stopped 23 shots for the Engineers.

Junior Kaitlyn Keon (Toronto, Ontario) knocked in the game-winner in the second period, classmate Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) converted a penalty shot in the third and freshman Maddie Woo (Plymouth, Minn.) tallied a late empty net insurance goal. Moore surpassed the 50-save mark for the third time this season, pushing the Bears to 2-0-1 in games where she accomplishes the impressive defensive feat.

Rensselaer got several good looks in the first period, starting at 1:32 with a spinning shot by Toni Sanders as she skated backwards near the crease, only to have Moore slide over for the glove side blocker save. Robson assembled Brown's best chance of the period when she sped just ahead of her defender down the right wing, but the shooting angle closed up quickly and Engineers goalie Kelly O'Brien stood up for the save.

Sanders looked to create at the 6:08 mark with a sharp pass to Lauren Wash crashing from the left wing, but Moore blocked up the five hole for one of her 14 saves in the period.

The Engineers controlled much of the second period and plastered the net with shots early in the frame. Mari Mankey struck the pipe with a slicing shot from the right face off circle at 1:20 and Katie Rooney followed by trying to rattle the water bottle on a 2-on-1 breakaway, but Moore's save sent the puck careening into the rafters.

Moore displayed more relentless goalkeeping at the 8:32 mark, denying a pair of shots and leaving the safety of the crease to dive on a Jordan Smelker rebound and smother the loose puck. The Brown offense rewarded its goalie's effort by cashing in on a Rensselaer tripping call with 8:08 remaining. Keon's first attempt off crossing passes from Robson and senior Jessica Hoyle (Toronto, Ontario) was saved but she hung on long enough to deposit the rebound at put the Bears up 1-0.

Brown nearly struck again with 1:11 left in the third when sophomore Alli Rolandelli's (Minnetonka, Minn.) entry pass threaded its way to the net and Robson swatted the rebound. O'Brien's save sent the puck flipping into the air and the Engineers goalie snagged it before Robson could muster another shot.

Holding tight to a 1-0 lead, Moore continued to turn away shot after shot, including a wide-open look for Taylor Mahoney between the circles at the 6:52 mark. The Engineers only ramped up the attack after a Brown holding penalty put Rensselaer a man up, but a few lucky bounces and a high sticking call got the puck out of the Bears' zone.

Brown's defenders buckled down and contested seemingly ever shot in the late going, setting up Robson for a breakaway that gave way to a late trip and penalty shot. Brown's leading point getter coolly put one left-to-right move on O'Brien and pushed the Bears ahead 2-0.

Rensselaer pulled O'Brien for an extra attacker, but seniors Venessa Welten (Crysler, Ontario) and Kelly Kittredge (Mahwah, N.J.) disrupted an Engineers pass and set up Woo for an uncontested empty net goal to seal the 3-0 victory.
