TROY, N.Y. - Two of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's (RPI) biggest men's hockey home games of the season will be aired live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel. The contests against Cornell University on January 17 and the Big Red Freakout! on February 14 against Yale University at the Houston Field House will be produced and broadcast live by TWC SportsChannel. Both are 7pm starts and can be seen in the Capital Region on channel 50.

"We are extremely excited to have these two games, which should both showcase tremendous college hockey action in a terrific facility with a raucous atmosphere, aired live throughout the state of New York," said Jim Knowlton, director of athletics. The Engineers game with the Big Red a week from Saturday is the annual Whiteout! contest at the Field House, in which all fans are encouraged to wear white to show their support for the home team. The game with the Bulldogs is the 38th Annual Big Red Freakout!, a night that features a give-away to all fans and typically a sold-out facility. Both games are ECAC Hockey contests.

Perry Laskaris '07 will handle the play-by-play and Kevin Broad '07, a former captain and assistant coach at Rensselaer, will provide color commentary for both games.

In addition to the live broadcasts, replay times on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will be scheduled for each game and all games will be archived on Time Warner On Demand, accessible to all Time Warner Cable Digital Cable customers.
