Matt Clarke was hired as Assistant Coach of the RPI golf program in the summer of 2024. Clarke, a native of Rochester, N.Y., graduated from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1983. While at Allegheny, Clarke was a two-time All-American on the golf team and co-captained the 1983 NCAA Division III National Championship team, as well as winning the individual title.
He has qualified for 12 USGA championships, played in over 40 NY State Amateur and Mid-Amateur tournaments and still enjoys competing at the local, state and national level. Clarke is also an avid hockey fan, player, and was an assistant coach on the 2000 New York State High School hockey championship team at LaSalle Institute in Troy.
Clarke has been an employee benefit consultant for over 40 years and lives in Loudonville, N.Y. with his wife, Eileen Stack and daughter Elizabeth.
