Troy, N.Y. — Two years ago, the East Campus Athletic Village (ECAV) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute began with the stroke of a shovel. On October 3, the Institute officially unveiled the new facility–the most extensive athletic construction project in Rensselaer history, offering athletic and recreation facilities that will change the student experience dramatically.

TROY, N.Y. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their annual All-Academic Team awards and the Rensselaer men’s track & field program was recognized. Individually, sophomore Garrett Harms was also honored for his outstanding contributions.

TROY, N.Y. – The 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 College Division Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams have been announced and Rensselaer student-athlete Garrett Harms has been named to the First Team. A sophomore, he is now eligible for National Academic All-America consideration.

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee has chosen five individuals for induction into Rensselaer’s Athletics Hall of Fame. The Class of 2009 is made up of Joe Battaglia ‘00 (lacrosse), Josh Black ’00 (track & field), Paola Martinez ’00 (basketball), Mike Pestilli ’00 (track & field) and Carol Pillsworth ’76 (coach/administrator).

Women's Awards / Men's Awards

TROY, N.Y. - The Liberty League has announced its year-end outdoor track & field award winners and three from Rensselaer, including two student-athletes, have been selected. Kristiina Baker and Lindsey Dubas were named the Women's Track Performer and Rookie of the Year, respectively, while head coach Colin Tory and his staff were honored as the Women’s and Men’s Coaching Staff of the Year.

Final Event Results

TROY, N.Y. – Rensselaer student-athlete Ja’Mar Watson finished 15th overall in Thursday’s hammer throw event at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Don Drumm Stadium on the campus of the Marietta College.  The sophomore thrower recorded a toss of 49.48 meters in his event.
