Philatre Named Liberty League Forward of the Week
Senior forward led Engineers to 2-0 conference weekend

TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners and Rensselaer student-athlete Ricky Philatre was named Forward of the Week for the week ending February 7. This marks his third weekly award this season.
A senior forward from Randolph, Mass., Philatre averaged 11.5 points and nine rebounds in two games, leading the Engineers to a 2-0 record on the weekend. In a 59-53 victory over Clarkson on Friday, he scored a team-high 11 points, came away with five offensive rebounds and recorded a steal. The following day in a 66-61 win over St. Lawrence, Philatre went 5 for 7 from the field, recorded a team-leading 13 rebounds and added three blocks, an assist and a steal.
On the season, Philatre is averaging 9.6 points and 8.2 rebounds, while starting 18 games. The Randolph High School graduate has a team-best 155 rebounds, to go along with 16 blocks and 20 steals. He is shooting .483 from the field and .551 from the free throw line.
The Engineers, who are 13-6 overall and 5-4 in the league, return to action this weekend, when they travel to conference foes Skidmore on Friday (8pm) and Union on Saturday (4pm).
