TROY, N.Y. – Led by victories in all six singles and a sweep of doubles, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 9-0, on Wednesday at Sharp Courts. With the victory, the Engineers improved to 4-6, while the Fighting Tigers move to 4-4 on the season.
Junior
Jessica Sitzer (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) led the way, picking up victories at first singles and first doubles with partner
Christine Roe (Phoenix, AZ/North). RPI also saw freshman
Jessica Ziegler (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon Senior) and sophomore
Elaine Vavoules (Hauppauge, NY/Smithtown West) claim victory at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
Rensselaer is back in action on April 22, when it hosts area-rival Union at Sharp Courts (4pm). SUNY Cobleskill faces Wells on the road on Saturday (1pm).
