As a sophomore, Sitzer posted a 7-2 record at fifth singles and went 7-1 at second doubles with Roe. Among the highlights of her season was a first-round victory in first flight singles at the New York State Championships. Sitzer was 3-3 in singles action with a 4-0 doubles record during her freshman campaign.

A former standout at Morris Hills High School, Sitzer was a four-year standout on the tennis team, serving as a captain in her senior season. In addition to being a two-time All-Conference Second Team selection, she was a Coaches Award honoree. Sitzer also played four years of softball, helping her team to four consecutive conference titles.
